Terms of Service

Effective date: 8 October 2026

Planning and debt-estimate clarification added: 12 October 2026

These terms apply when you use the Zalt mobile app, its optional watch features and zalt.fyi. Zalt is provided by CAJGI Pty Ltd (“we” or “us”). By using Zalt, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

Who can use Zalt

You must be 13 or older to use Zalt. Zalt welcomes teenagers and adults learning to manage their money. If you are under the age of legal adulthood where you live, you must have a parent or guardian’s permission to use Zalt. Ask them to review these terms with you. Any additional requirements under local law still apply.

A free app supported by ads

Zalt is free to download and use, with no paid features. It is supported by ads: sponsored offers shown in the app.

Not financial advice

Zalt is a planning tool. It is not financial, tax, legal or credit advice, and we are not your financial adviser. Figures such as available money, spending guides, shortfall dates and tax or deduction estimates are guides based on what you enter and on general rules. They are not guarantees, and your real pay, bills and taxes can differ. Check scanned, imported and calculated figures before saving or relying on them. Check important decisions with your employer, your bank, the relevant tax authority or a qualified adviser.

Debt repayment comparisons are illustrative calculations using the balances, rates, fees and repayment assumptions you enter or accept. They are not lender statements, payout quotes or recommendations to take out, refinance or remain in a particular credit product. Actual interest, fees, repayment dates and outcomes may differ. Check your lender’s terms, including early-repayment fees and how extra payments are applied, before acting. Recording or planning a repayment in Zalt does not move money or change your agreement with a lender.

For Australian HELP and other study or training loans, an estimate of payroll withholding is not confirmation that the ATO has credited a repayment to your loan account. Check your current balance and repayment obligations with the ATO. These explanations do not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

Your data, backups and recovery code

Your plan is stored on your device. You are responsible for what you enter, for keeping your device secure and for making backups if you want them.

Encrypted backups require their recovery code. Where supported, device authentication can unlock a code stored on your phone or recovered through your Apple or Google account, without typing it. You can instead enter a separately saved code. Account recovery depends on Apple or Google syncing or restoring the code; a separately saved code is needed after account loss or when switching platforms. We do not hold a copy of your plan, your backups or your recovery code and cannot recover your plan for you. Keep any separately saved recovery code private and somewhere safe.

Using Zalt fairly

Please do not:

  • use Zalt for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
  • try to break, overload, bypass or interfere with Zalt, its offers or its measurement services, including by generating fake ad views or clicks;
  • copy, resell or redistribute Zalt, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows; or
  • use Zalt to infringe anyone else’s rights.

Sponsored offers come from third parties. Each sponsor is responsible for its own offer, products, services, claims, pricing and terms. Showing an offer is not a recommendation that it suits you. If you follow a sponsor link, you deal directly with that sponsor under its terms and privacy policy. Read the details before signing up for anything.

Intellectual property

Zalt, its design, content and the Zalt name and logo belong to CAJGI or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own planning while you follow these terms. Your plan is yours.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Zalt useful and reliable, but interruptions and errors can occur. We may change features for security, legal or operational reasons. Where reasonably possible, we will give advance notice of changes that materially reduce functionality, so you can export or back up your plan. Your consumer rights remain unaffected.

Our responsibility and your rights

Our responsibility for loss or damage is determined by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or removes remedies available under consumer law, including the Australian Consumer Law and applicable laws where you live. The limitations of planning estimates, backups and third-party services described above do not remove our responsibility where the law makes us liable.

App store terms

The terms of Apple’s App Store or Google Play also apply. For App Store downloads, Apple’s standard licence agreement applies unless the store specifies a custom licence. These Terms of Service cover Zalt’s services alongside that licence; they do not replace it or override its usage rights. Contact us for Zalt support.

Stopping use

You can stop using Zalt at any time. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device, so make a backup first if you want to keep your plan. Backups and exports you saved elsewhere stay where you put them until you delete them. We may stop providing Zalt to anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in law, security or how Zalt operates. Where reasonably possible, we will give advance notice of material changes in the app or on this website, with the date they take effect. Changes apply going forward, not to earlier events or existing claims. Where required, we will ask for consent. If you do not agree, you can export your plan and stop using Zalt before the changes take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. This does not take away consumer protection rights you have under the laws of the country where you live.
